ABOUT THE BREED
Toy spaniels were part of the royal
court life as early as the 15th Century.
Royalty such as Mary Queen of Scots,
Charles 1, Charles II and the Duke and
Duchess of Marlborough all loved and cherished these little dogs. Then in 1928,
after a considerable challenge to bring the breed back, the UK Cavalier King
Charles Spaniel Club was founded. In 1996 the Cavalier gained full recognition
by the AKC as the 140th AK
C breed.
